Benjamin was active in the movement in Kassa from 1940. In 1944 he was enlisted in a forced labor unit, deserted and arrived at the “Glass House’. He was an underground activist. After the liberation he worked in the education of children who had survived the Holocaust. He made aliya with the children via Cyprus in 1946. On the way he married Sarah Steiner. In Eretz Israel (Palestine) he continued his educational work.
